I went to this on Friday. I think the best part is the moment right after a strange child asks you "What is progress?" when you're not sure you want to plunge into a semi-scripted philosophical conversation with a seven-year old but you do anyway, and then you get nervous about your answer, as if being in this project has made him or her your intellectual superior ...
Also "Memory" by Anish Kapoor looks like a fun time travel device of the 19th century from one side and a terrifying black hole on the other

everything is going to be fine
watching mark do a keg stand in my backyard at 4 in the morning after my birthday party while the last five people still there danced to hall & oates, i felt like i did at the end of senior year when everyone was rolling around on my living room floor to tears for fears. like i've managed my life pretty well so far.

like a bird
last night when my mother came over to a deliver a fan to my apartment, my superintendent was hanging around outside with a parrot on his shoulder (as he is wont to do). so naturally we started talking about pet parrots, and my mother says, "parrots have very deep emotions. maybe deeper than humans."
i can buy that animals feel. but deeper than humans? really?

why i hate new people
stupidity:
